Job Purpose
The Auto Electrician’s primary roles and responsibilities are to diagnose, repair, and maintaining the
electrical systems of our products.
Key Responsibilities: Operations
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in the equipment vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure efficient operations.
- Install and maintain electrical systems in the current equipment fleet.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot problem.
- Test electrical systems to ensure they meet industry standards and regulations.
- To always work with good attitude to safety and plan to reduce the possibility of minor accidents and incidents within the workplace.
- To ensure that time during the shift is used effectively by planning all work to be undertaken each shift/day ensuring that all spare parts and tools required for the allocated task are taken to the job task at its start. At the completion of a task all unused spare parts are to be returned to the store and all tools are to be cleaned and returned to the workshop to be stored in their respective toolboxes.
- To ensure good time keeping and attendance at the place of work.
- Develop your own knowledge of the equipment to be maintained/repaired by looking at and reading the plant and service manuals for the specific item of plant.
- To partake in the open reporting of “near miss” incidents and other safety and welfare matters to your supervisor.
- To work in a clean and tidy environment. Ensure all components are cleaned prior to stripping down and/or replacing.
- When a task is completed within a workshop ensure that the area is cleaned up immediately and all tools are returned.
- When a task is completed within the field ensure that the work area is cleaned up immediately and all tools are returned to the workshop or/and replaced in their respective toolbox.
- Ensure that all oils and greases are disposed of in an environmental manner and containers returned to the nominated storage area.
- To be able to work alone in a safe and productive manner with minimum supervision.
- Ability to repair air conditioning systems.
Qualifications / Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience in auto electrical repairs in the similar industry
- Good working knowledge of Komatsu equipment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components of heavy equipment vehicles
- Familiarity with diagnostics tools & equipment.
- Basic computer applications knowledge
- Ability to communicate with end users at all levels and demonstrate an understanding of end user operations and service requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues for appropriate maintenance and repair requirements
- Physically fit to perform mechanical jobs
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Can work under stressful environment
- Ensure behaviours are consistent to enhance the team environment.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and statutory obligations at all times.
