Job Purpose
To ensure operations of heavy duty equipment of customers in area of operation by completing preventive maintenance and repair requirements on excavators, bull dozers, wheel dozer, dump trucks, rollers, backhoe, forklift, grader and wheel loader following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities: Operations

• Ensure quality of workmanship
• Ensure all plant and equipment are checked thoroughly
• Ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner
• Maximize plant life by carrying out proper maintenance
• Ensure all parts used are recorded
• Maintain proper record keeping – time keeping, service sheets, inspection sheets, job cards
• Report all plant abuse to your immediate supervisor
• Ensure all tools are kept in good order and are returned to tool store
• Ensure the correct material is used in all applications – welding rods- oils – filters etc
• Report all defects to your supervisor
• Ensure your timekeeping is within company policy
• Follow company HR procedures
• Performs any other related duties assigned from time to time by supervisor

Qualifications / Requirements

• A minimum of Motor Vehicle Mechanics with ten years or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Auto Mechanics with Five (5) years relevant work experience in the construction and mining industry.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of Komatsu equipment
• Must have interpersonal and communication skills
• At ease with reports on maintenance, repairs, overhaul and test equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Strong knowledge and skill in maintenance and repair of diesel equipment
• Proficient in the use of all hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform complex diagnostic procedures on all equipment and determine the appropriate maintenance and repairs accordingly
• Must have ability to report on technical job.
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License and able to drive
• Must have basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Collectively utilize individual efforts of team members and integrate the talents and competencies they possess
• Comply with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and statutory obligations at all times.
